About

"This new work takes shape around a need to connect to fear of the unknown. The work has been affected by global, local and personal changes, anxieties and conflicts. It is, in some sense, a quest for peace and insight into an environment in flux. I've set the dance to "Quartet for the End of Time" by Olivier Messaien, whose works have resonated deeply for me since I was nineteen. The quartet was written in 1944 while he was interned as a prisoner of war. It speaks to me of anxiety and hope and has helped to underpin the work."
